Beyond Sunrise is a charity supporting sustainable projects that improve health, education, opportunity and community development for people and communities facing disadvantage.
Our Story
Beyond Sunrise grew from a commitment to making a practical, lasting difference in communities where support is needed most. More than a decade ago, we established Tembo Medical Centre in Kenya with the aim of improving access to healthcare for the local community. The project has continued through changing circumstances and has remained a central part of our commitment to sustainable, community-focused development. Beyond Sunrise was created to build on this experience and support a wider range of projects — helping communities create opportunities for a healthier, more secure and more positive future.
What We Believe

Founder of Tembo Medical Centre and Beyond Sunrise, with over 13 years’ experience in international NGO programmes, healthcare and community development. Anna is passionate about creating sustainable opportunities that improve health and wellbeing for disadvantaged communities.
Surendra Kolodziej-Iyer
Beyond Sunrise Co-Founder
& Trustee
Co-founder of Beyond Sunrise, with a key role in the charity’s financial stewardship and development. Surendra has spent considerable time in Kenya, working closely with local communities and supporting the development of projects on the ground.

Abhay brings a strong commitment to supporting the work of Beyond Sunrise and creating positive opportunities for communities. Abhay is passionate about contributing his time, skills and experience to help the charity grow and achieve its goals.
